Coffee Pot Bayou, St. Pete | Garden Sanctuary with Purpose

This front yard transformation was designed to create a layered, immersive garden experience that balances curb appeal with everyday living. The client envisioned a space that would provide privacy, depth, seasonal interest, and sustainability—while still feeling welcoming and connected to nature.

Using a thoughtful mix of Florida native and Florida-friendly plants, the design embraces a more naturalistic approach with minimal lawn, allowing the garden to support pollinators, reduce maintenance, and thrive within the local ecosystem. A curated cut-flower garden adds color, movement, and blooms throughout the seasons, creating opportunities to bring nature indoors as well.

Layered plantings were carefully arranged to establish hierarchy, texture, and softness throughout the space, while still preserving a small open area of lawn—just enough room to sit on the ground, enjoy a picnic, and fully experience the garden from within.

“Sara's expertise in Florida native landscaping design was what drew us to her services. We were looking to get rid of our boring, grass-centric lawn and revamp it to include pollinators and drought resistant plants that would support the local wildlife. She was so communicative and responsive throughout the process and helped us to bring our vision to life. Further, her professional relationship with Wilcox made the install and planning process seamless and easy. We can't recommend her enough!”

We'll definitely be calling Sara for any future projects!”
